How to play Breakout?
The arcade brick-buster in its purest form. A ball bounces around the screen and you slide a paddle along the bottom to keep it in play. Every brick the ball strikes disappears and adds to your score — clear the entire wall to advance to the next layout. Let the ball slip past your paddle and you lose a life.
- Move paddle — Mouse or left / right arrows
- Launch ball — Click or Space
- Fullscreen — Press F or click the expand icon
Where the ball hits the paddle controls the bounce angle — strike with the edge to send it sideways, the centre to send it straight up.
Carve a channel up one side, then send the ball above the wall to bounce along the ceiling and demolish bricks for free.
The ball speeds up the longer a rally lasts and after it breaks the top rows — stay centred so you can react either direction.
