Privacy statement

Last updated: April 2026

This statement explains what personal data Pixlland ("we", "us") collects when you browse or play games on pixlland.com, why we collect it, how long we keep it, and who we share it with. We try to keep jargon to a minimum. If anything here is unclear, email privacy@pixlland.com.

1. Data we collect

  • Usage data — pages visited, games started, search terms, and aggregate gameplay duration. Collected via first-party analytics. Never used to build an advertising profile of you personally.
  • Device data — user-agent string, screen size, language, and approximate country (derived from your IP). Used to serve the right layout and localize copy.
  • Account data — only when you sign in. Email, display name, profile image, and a list of games you favorited or recently played.
  • Content you submit — messages sent through the contact form, including any details you include about your device or the game you're playing.

2. Why we collect it

  • To run the service — load games, remember favorites, translate the UI.
  • To improve the catalog — understand which games people like so we feature them better.
  • To fight abuse — rate-limit contact forms, detect automated scraping, protect accounts.
  • To meet legal requirements — tax records, takedown notices, law enforcement requests.

3. How long we keep it

  • Analytics events are aggregated after 90 days and retained without identifiers for up to 24 months.
  • Server logs (IP + user-agent) are retained for 30 days, then deleted.
  • Account data persists as long as the account is active. Delete your account to remove it.
  • Contact messages are kept 12 months after the case is closed, unless law requires longer.

4. Who sees your data

Pixlland runs on a small stack of vetted providers. Each only sees the data they need:

  • Vercel — hosting & edge network. Handles request logs.
  • Neon — managed PostgreSQL. Holds account + gameplay data.
  • Cloudflare — CDN, image resizing, DDoS protection.
  • Google (Auth) — only if you sign in with Google.
  • Apple (Auth) — only if you sign in with Apple.
  • Google Ad Manager / AdSense — serves ads when you consent to advertising cookies.
  • Sentry — error tracking. No personal data, only stack traces.
  • Resend — email relay for contact form replies.

5. We do not sell your data

Pixlland does not sell personal data. We do not share email addresses with third-party advertisers. Ad networks may receive aggregate, anonymized signals (country, general category interest) to fill an ad slot — never your name, email, or identity.

6. Transfers outside your country

Our infrastructure is mostly in the US (Vercel, Cloudflare) and the EU (Neon replica). When your data leaves your country, we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses (for EU residents) and equivalent frameworks where available.
