Kids cookie statement

Last updated: April 2026

This page is written for parents and legal guardians. It lists every cookie and browser-storage key that Pixlland Kids (kids.pixlland.com) can set, in plain English, so you know exactly what lives on your child's device after a visit.

Summary in one paragraph

Kids uses only strictly necessary storage. There is no sign-in, no analytics cookie, and no advertising cookie on Kids. The few items below exist so the site remembers language, volume, and which games were played — all stored on the device itself, not sent to our servers. You can wipe everything at any time from the browser's Clear browsing data dialog.

1. Strictly necessary (always on)

NameTypeLifetimeWhy it exists
pixlland_localeCookie1 yearKeeps the language your child picked so the next visit opens in the same one.
pixlland:cookieConsentlocalStorageUntil clearedRemembers the consent choice a parent makes on the banner. Kids defaults to "strictly necessary only" for every new visit.

2. Device-only gameplay memory (no network)

NameTypeLifetimeWhy it exists
pl-favoriteslocalStorageUntil clearedThe list of games your child tapped the heart on. Never leaves the device.
pl-recentslocalStorageUntil clearedThe last 20 games played, so the home screen can say "keep playing".
pl-themelocalStorageUntil clearedDark / light preference.
pl-volumelocalStorageUntil clearedRemembers the muted / loud setting so audio is predictable.

3. What is NOT on Kids

  • No analytics cookie. We count page views with a cookieless beacon. There is no per-child session identifier, anywhere.
  • No advertising cookie. Ads on Kids, when shown, are contextual — picked by page topic. We do not set __gads, IDE, NID or similar cookies on Kids.
  • No third-party social embed. No Facebook pixel, no Twitter widget, no TikTok player. Share buttons on Kids open the OS share sheet instead of embedding a network.
  • No sign-in token. next-auth.session-token is created only on the main pixlland.com site after a parent logs in — it never exists on Kids.

4. How to wipe everything

  1. Chrome / Edge: three-dot menu → Settings → Privacy and security → Clear browsing data → Cookies and other site data and scope to kids.pixlland.com.
  2. Safari: Settings → Safari → Clear History and Website Data.
  3. Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data → Manage Data, search for kids.pixlland.com, Remove.
  4. On a managed tablet: tools like Google Family Link, iOS Screen Time, or Amazon Kids can clear all site data on a schedule.

5. If something changes

If we ever add a new cookie to Kids, this page will list it and show a parents-first banner for at least 30 days before it takes effect. We treat that as a material change to our Kids privacy statement.

6. Contact

Email privacy@pixlland.com with any question — including "please delete everything you have on my child right now". Because Kids does not keep identifying data on our servers, we usually confirm that there is nothing to delete on our side within 1 business day.
