Cookie statement

Last updated: April 2026

This statement lists every cookie and local-storage key Pixlland sets or allows on the pages of pixlland.com. Manage your choices any time from the footer Cookies link at the bottom of every page.

1. Strictly necessary

Always on. Removing these breaks the site.

  • pixlland_locale (cookie, 1 year) — the language you chose. Read by the server so the first render matches your pick.
  • pixlland:cookieConsent (localStorage) — your answers to this banner.
  • next-auth.session-token / __Secure-next-auth.session-token (cookie, session) — your signed-in session, only after you log in.

2. Functional

Set only if you accept. They remember preferences that aren't strictly required.

  • pl-recents (localStorage) — your last 20 recently played games for the account panel.
  • pl-favorites (localStorage) — your favorited games when you're not signed in.
  • pl-theme (localStorage) — dark / light preference.
  • pixlland_geo_dismissed (cookie, 90 days) — hides the "switch language?" banner after you dismiss it.

3. Analytical

Set only if you accept. Anonymous usage metrics that help us improve the catalog and the product. No third-party trackers (no GA, no Hotjar, no GTM).

  • Plausible / internal beacon — page views and game-start events without cookies or identifiers.

4. Advertising

Set only if you accept. Third-party ad networks (Google Ad Manager, AdSense) set their own cookies to show relevant ads and to split revenue back to game developers.

  • __gads, __gpi, IDE, NID (Google) — frequency capping, fraud prevention, personalization.

Without your consent, ads still appear — they just aren't personalized. You can also opt out at Google Ad Settings and YourOnlineChoices.

5. Change your mind

Click Cookies in the footer of any page to re-open the settings and change which categories are active. Your choice is saved for the next visit.
